Self-confidence is sometimes difficult to attain, especially with many media outlets telling us to transform ourselves through quick exercises and diet pills, makeup, cosmetics, protein shakes, new expensive clothing, etc.
How you perceive yourself is important however you shouldn’t focus on what you dislike about yourself because you will miss out on all the qualities that make you a unique and interesting individual.
Today, stand in front of a mirror and admire your good qualities, you will notice a major change in your attitude. Whenever you are feeling self-conscious about your big ears, frizzy hair or whatever it may be that makes you question yourself; just remind yourself of your good qualities such as how great you are at a certain sport or your amazing smile. Don’t let negative images or thoughts ruin your day or rule you life.
Remember to stay positive and love yourself!
Is there anything you do to stay positive or keep others around you positive?
When I was in high school, I was probably one of skinnest and tallest girls in my grade. I was also one of the least developed. The gym class locker room was always a low point in my week because I got to see the bodies of women around me and I still had the body of a little girl. A boy even said that I was "as flat as an ironing board".
ReplyDeleteNow that I'm in university and my body has developed, I can't help but be grateful for those experiences. I feel like it helped me grow and not focus on being a "sexy bombshell", but becoming an adult in many different ways like learning about art, culture, and spending time with my friends.
It's when you feel your lowest that you grow, because you realize you want to stop feeling this way. So for those of you who are feeling bad about your physical self, focus on improving your inner self. I guarantee that learning a new language beats getting breast implants anyday!
I agree with Hampy! Self-confidence is very important, it will get you far in life
